Apple Watch & The iPhone 6

Apple Watch & The iPhone 6

I am working on an big article/review of the iPhone 6 Plus, which is extremely profound in its implications. This article will not only offer a number of interesting insights on the iPhone 6 Plus, but also offer some perspective on how it might interact with the the Apple Watch.

Apple CEO Tim Cook Shows Off The iPhone 6 Plus & Apple Watch Together For The First Time

In case you missed the Apple September 2014 event where Apple CEO, Tim Cook introduced the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and the Apple Watch, as well as intruding Apple Pay, I highly recommend watch it, as seen below. If you want to learn even more and gain valuable insight from Tim Cook, I also highly recommend checking out his interview on Charlie Rose. Also Bloomberg Business wrote a great profile recently on Tim Cook, which covers his achievements at Apple, including the launch of the iPhone 6 and Apple Watch, which I also recommend.

Like Peanut Butter & Jelly

The iPhone 6 and Apple Watch go together perfectly, like chocolate and peanut butter, or guacamole and chips. One of the most fascinating UI Design elements is that the Apple Watch has round icons instead of square, like iOS has. This not only creates a brilliant contrast, but aids in making the screen on the Apple watch seem less cluttered, and it kind of reminds me, speaking of food metaphors, of a bunch of Skittles, or M&M's layed out on a table.

The Dynamic Duo

So how exactly will the Apple Watch initially work with and depend on an iPhone? What will the relationship be between the two? Apple already mentioned that using a Apple Watch will require being setup with an iPhone.

The photo above shows an iPhone application designed to show the users health progress over time, on the iPhone screen. In other words, the iPhone App allows the user to see an "at-a-glance" perspective on their days, weeks and months.

This helps to make certain you get enough exercise, and it even allows you to share your activity and workout data with other third-party fitness and health apps.
